David Wagner has been sacked as Norwich manager- following their 4-0 defeat to Leeds last night.
The Canaries were behind in just seven minutes, after a quick free-kick from Leeds, with 'The Whites' going on to score three more in ninety minutes.
The German became the club's Head-Coach on 6 January 2023, after Dean Smith was sacked just after Christmas.
The 52-year-old steered Norwich to 13th place in his first season and 6th place in his second.
Wagner won 31 of his 75 games in charge, including the East Anglian Derby at Carrow Road on April 6th- where Norwich won 1-0.
But the German's pragmatic's style of play has come under criticism from some fans, after the Canaries drew 0-0 with Leeds at home, in the first leg of their championship playoff semi-final.
With the former Huddersfield boss drawing 17 and losing 27, while being in charge of Norwich.
"The time is right for us to move in a different direction"
In a statement the club thanked Wagner for his work over the past year and four months, and say they'll now start the process of appointing his successor.
Sporting director Ben Knapper said: “David has operated with class and dignity throughout his period as Norwich City head coach, but we now feel that the time is right for us to move in a different direction.
“We remain committed to progressing our football club, in both the short and long-term, working through a diligent and thorough strategy.
“The appointment of a new head coach is an important one. We will now work and continue our due diligence with the view of making an appointment in the near future.”
Norwich's Assistant head coach Christoph Bühler will also leave the club.
Arsenal coach Carlos Cuesta has been widely tipped to take on the role, after working with the Club's sporting director Ben Knapper, when he was the Gunners loans manager.
