'Treat everyone as though they have the virus' - warning from Norfolk councillor as cases soar
Cases in the county have soared over the new year
'Treat everyone as though they have the virus.'
That's the warning from a West Norfolk councillor who fought Covid over Christmas.
Councillor Samantha Sandell, from the Borough Council for King's Lynn and West Norfolk contracted the virus after her family members tested positive.
She's urging us to follow the guidance to keep ourselves and communities safe.
She said:
"I found out that I was Covid positive on Boxing Day. My daughter and partner had both tested positive the previous days.
"I was very shocked to think that I had caught the virus as I had kept myself safe and well for the last nine months.
"Please stay at home as much as possible. Only go out if you really, really need to. Continue to wear your masks, gloves, keep the social distancing rule and treat everybody as though they have the virus themselves.
"Make sure that if you do get the virus to tell a friend, family member or a neighbour so they can keep an eye on you. Don't be afraid to tell anyone you have the virus, because you will need help."
