Covid outbreak at Norfolk chocolate factory
Staff at the factory in Fakenham have tested positive
Confectionery company, Kinnerton, has confirmed 14 members of their 600-strong workforce in Fakenham have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The company says: "with the increase incidence of Covid-19 across the region, a small number of our colleagues have tested positive".
Michael Artt, who's the Site Director, added: "We are working proactively with the local Public Health Team and Norfolk County Council who are very supportive of our actions.
"There has been a limited effect on production, but we have been able to mitigate the impact to customers by transferring some packing work to our sister factories."
He went on to say in his statement that a number of measures have been put in place to try to contain the outbreak.
Mr Artt said: "These include increased hand washing and sanitising, enhanced cleaning, social distancing measures such as physical segregation screens and one way systems, the use of personal protective equipment and modified shift times to prevent congestion.
"The safety and well-being of our colleagues is our number one priority and we continue to regularly review our protocols to maintain a Covid safe environment."
