Covid-19 patient numbers increase at QEH in King's Lynn

The numbers are up week-on-week

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, Trust was caring for 169 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday (26 January), figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on 26 January was up from 158 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 increased by 6.29% in the last four weeks - 28 days ago, there were 159.

Across England there were 32,337 people in hospital with Covid as of January 26, with 3,634 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised has increased by 48% nationally in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has more than doubled.

The figures also show that 109 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, NHS Foundation Trust in the week to 24 January. This was up from 84 in the previous seven days.
