Camper Van making it's way round Norfolk offering free help to carers
It's being driven by Caring Together- and aims to bring support to people's doorstep in rural parts of the county
A local carers charity is making it's way around the county in a camper van, providing free help to struggling families.
Caring Together will be dropping into Downham Market, North Walsham and Diss between today and Thursday.
The charity will be offering support and advice about reducing energy costs this autumn and managing financially as a carer for a family member (or friend) who is ill or disabled.
This tour is part of the charity's ‘Carer Money Matters’ project which gives free advice to unpaid carers and those they look after.
"In rural areas it can be really difficult to get to local centres"
Zoe Bunter is from the group:
"The reason that we're using a camper van for this, is to try and make this support as accessible as possible. We know that in rural areas it can be really difficult to get to local centres for support.
"We're all very conscious about energy costs as we head into the Autumn and Winter periods.
"However, if you've got somebody in your family who is disabled, ill or has a condition such as Parkinson, you can end up having a range of additional costs to deal with".
