Calls for Govt. to better tackle fuel poverty in Norfolk, from union

There's calls for the Government to better tackle fuel poverty in Norfolk- following this month's rise in the energy price cap.
Trade union Unite is holding a day of action on this in Great Yarmouth.
It's part of their national campaign called 'Energy 4 All', which has been running since 2023.
They want to see the 'eradication' of fuel poverty and for the UK's energy industry to be nationalised.
At the start of the month Ofgem's Energy Price Cap increased by 6.4%. This means an annual household bill for the likes of gas and electricity stands at £1,849, on average.
"This all means that people are going to get poorer"
Mary Littlefield is branch secretary of Unite in Norfolk:
"We are going to get streams of stories about the misery that people are facing because of this. We're going to get people who say they're struggling to feed their family and that they're in debt.
"It's really hard for people to get support. For example some of the paperwork that you have to fill out for the Department for Work and Pensions are 22 pages long.
"In the short term- this all means that people are going to get poorer, the gap between rich and poor is increasing immeasurably.
"We've got more millionaire and billionaire than ever before in Britain, while also having a record level of those in poverty".
