Friends of Horsey Seals were called out almost once a day on average during April.

They were called 29 times to seals believed to be in distress, with five being taken to East Winch Wildlife Centre for further treatment.

One young animal was found the other day with a deep and infected wound on the top of its neck, caused a nylon net, while another was rescued after becoming trapped in rocks.

Anyone who sees a seal they believe to be in trouble at the beach, is asked to call 07706 314514.
