Hundreds of boaters have been caught speeding through the Broads in just one month.
A Broads Authority (BA) report has revealed the number of people who have been stopped by rangers and issued with warnings for going too fast and other offences during April this year.
A total of 432 boaters were reprimanded, with 371 getting off with just a verbal talking to while 61 received a written statement.
Speeding was the biggest issue for rangers, with the majority of people going over the limit in waters surrounding Wroxham – 158.
Irstead, on the River Ant, and Ludham were the next speeding hotspots, with 35 and 24 people caught.
The BA also prosecuted one boater for overstaying at a mooring and they were forced to pay out £1,214.
It comes at the start of the tourist season, with more and more people visiting the picturesque waterways of the Broads for a boating holiday.
While the figures may seem high, BA rangers were much busier during the same time period last year.
Rangers stopped 745 boaters for speeding and committing other offences – 72pc more than this year.
