Ahead of Joe Biden's anauguration as the President of the United States later on today, a expert on American Politics at the UEA has shared his thoughts on what it means for the country.

Dr Michael Fraser, who is American himself, but now lives in Norwich says it is going to be an 'unprecedented' ceremony.

But he says things won't change overnight.

He said:

"This is a very dangerous moment. The danger will probably decrease going forward, but simply having a new president will not solve the deep problems in the United States that produced Trump in the first place.

He added he does not think there will be any violence at the inauguration, as police will be better prepared:

"It looks like the violence from the 6th would be difficult to repeat, because the level of security has been increased so dramatically."
