Holt is to become the latest Norfolk town to lose its final bank branch - with Barclays announcing it will close in December.

The company announced a further 15 branches across the country would close last week.

The branch on the High Street will shut its doors for the final time on December 9.

Barclays says the number of counter transactions at the Holt branch have declined by 86% since 2016.

A third of the customers have started using nearby branches instead, while only 10 people use the Holt branch exclusively.

The firm is now pointing customers towards branches in nearby Sheringham and Fakenham.

The loss of local bank branches across Norfolk and Suffolk has led to fears about locals' access to cash and the ability of older or less mobile customers to access their finances.
