Norfolk Police team up with Yarmouth bosses raise awareness of anti-social behaviour
The two bodies set up thirty activities to explain how the issue can properly be rooted out
Norfolk Police has teamed up with local authorities in Great Yarmouth to raise awareness about anti-social behaviour in the local area.
It comes as part of a national awareness week last week, which has seen the two bodies set up a range of activities - all thirty of which focus on explaining how the issue can properly be rooted out in the community.
"It's really important to understand one little or big thing"
Justin Gibbs works for the borough council.
He told us that putting issues like this under the microscope - goes a long way: "Events like this really does bring focus on the issues and concerns that residents may well have.
"We certainly want to understand all of those and work with residents to identify solutions to take things forward and to ensure Great Yarmouth is a great place to live.
"It's really important to understand one little or big thing that is affecting local people at this time- so we can take it forwards because sometimes these seemingly small and relatively minor issue can have a really significant impact on people."
"So we can resolve things at the earliest possible time"
Mr Gibbs told us joint work like this isn't just a one off as well: "We often do street surgeries with police outside this week of events- we look to get an improved understanding all the time about what residents concerns are.
"We have a team of local caretakers in the area that work really closely with our residents and provide a really good opportunity to liaise with ourselves- so we can resolve things at the earliest possible time".
