Appeal after A47 incident near Norwich leads to attempted murder charges

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a driving incident on the A47 near Norwich earlier this month, which has led to a 20-year-old man being charged with two counts of attempted murder.

The incident happened at around 11.55am on Monday 6th October, when officers were transporting a man from Norwich to Essex in a black unmarked police vehicle.

The car came to a sudden stop in lane one of the westbound carriageway, between the junctions for the A146 and A140.

Following the investigation, police have charged the 20-year-old man with two counts of attempted murder in connection with the incident.

He also faces charges of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, supply of heroin, and possession of cannabis.

The man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 4th November 2025.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant dashcam footage taken in the area at the time.
