£199,654 is heading to King's Lynn and West Norfolk from the Government's Welcome Back Fund.

The cash can be used by the Borough Council to prepare for the end of lockdown and help to enhance towns for visitors and residents.

MP James Wild is welcoming the funding.

He said:

"This is about getting ready for the lifting of the restrictions and boosting the look and feel our high streets and seaside towns as we're once again able to welcome people back.

"The money could be used to make the high street look more attractive to hold events like street markets and festivals, to support local businesses or it could be for signage or floor markings to promote social distancing and safety, so there's a whole raft of things that could potentially be done here and I hope the council will talk to the community to see what could benefit them the most."
