'Fairly quiet Bonfire Night' in Norfolk
That's according to the Fire and Rescue Service
Norfolk Fire and Rescue have given an update as to how Bonfire Night passed for them.
In a statement to Greatest Hits Radio West Norfolk, Scott Norman, Assistant Chief Fire Officer for Norfolk Fire and Rescue service said:
"We are called to several incidents relating to bonfires across Norfolk last night, most of which were thankfully false alarms where there were controlled bonfires taking place and our crews were not required.
"While we had more of these type of incidents than on a usual night, it was a fairly quiet bonfire night for the service in comparison to other years. This may be due to the people of Norfolk following current Government advice and staying at home and not having bonfires, due to not being allowed visitors in their homes or gardens.
"We would encourage anyone planning a bonfire or fireworks this weekend to take extra care and continue to follow safety advice. https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/safety/norfolk-fire-and-rescue-service/safety-advice-and-guidance/home-safety-advice/fireworks
"In an emergency, people shouldn’t hesitate to call 999."
