Worcester Warriors will not play in the Championship next season, the Rugby Football Union has confirmed.
The RFU said in a statement that Atlas, who own the Warriors, withdrew their application to compete next season.
Atlas claimed they failed to reach an agreement with the RFU due to a requirement that creditors must be paid.
On Monday, the RFU and the Department for Culture, Media and Sports met with Atlas to try to find a resolution to the ongoing situation at Sixways.
A deadline for an agreement was set for February 14th for all parties to reach an agreement.
Today, the RFU released a statement confirming no agreement was reached and as such the Warriors would not play next season.
The CEO of the RFU, Bill Sweeney said: “We appreciate that the disappointment felt by Worcester Warriors staff, players and fans following the Atlas decision will be very significant.
“For a club to continue following insolvency, it is imperative that it has a sustainable and funded business plan, that there is transparency about ownership and funding structures, and that rugby creditors are paid.
It comes after plans were announced by Atlas last week about a possible rebrand of the club to Sixways Rugby, and a partnership with Stourbridge RFC.
A meeting will take place on Saturday at 1pm at Sixways, where Atlas will present to fans their plans going forward.
