A year on from the disappearance of a Bromsgrove student who drowned during Freshers' Week, his family have told us they'll never stop campaigning in his name.

12.months ago today - a massive search operation started in Worcester, following the disappearance of 18 year old Thomas Jones.

He was found dead days later in the River Severn.

Earlier this week, his parents Vicki and Ian helped to install rescue equipment where it happened.

The couple say they'll continue to raise awareness about the dangers of cold water shock.

They're also supporting the Don’t Drink and Drown campaign by the Royal Life Saving Society, which is urging students to stay away from the water on their night out and leave no one behind.

Recent stats found 70 people, aged between 18 and 21, have drowned in the last five years whist under the influence of alcohol. 93% of these were male.
