Two men due in court charged with Boxing Day murder

Two men charged with the murder of footballer Cody Fisher in Birmingham are due to appear in court today.

The 23 year old was stabbed at the Crane Nightclub in Digbeth on Boxing Day.

21 year old Kami Carpenter of no fixed address and Remy Gordon who is 22 and from Cofton Park Drive in Birmingham, were charged with murder on Saturday and appeared before magistrates on Monday.

They entered a not guilty plea to a linked charge of affray and were remanded in custody.

The pair are yet to enter a plea relating to the murder charge and are due to appear at the city's crown court this morning.

Cody, who played for Walsall FC Academy, along with a string of other local clubs, was approached by a group of people and stabbed at about 11.45pm while on a night out with friends.
