Tributes paid to Cody Fisher on year anniversary of nightclub murder
The 23-year-old was stabbed to death in Birmingham on Boxing Day last year.
Tributes have been paid to a talented footballer, a year on from his murder at a nightclub in Birmingham.
Cody Fisher was stabbed at Crane nightclub in Digbeth on Boxing Day last year whilst on a night out with friends.
On the anniversary of his death yesterday (26 December), tributes were paid by a number of the 23-year-old's former clubs.
Black armbands were worn at Stratford Town's game against Leamington Spa. The teams also held a minute's applause in the 23rd minute.
Respects were also paid by Bromsgrove Sporting and Stourbridge who held a minute's applause just before kick-off.
Three men are due to stand trial in January for Mr Fisher's murder.
Kami Carpenter, 21, of no fixed address; Remy Gordon, 22, from Rednal, and Reegan Anderson, 18, of no fixed address, are charged with murder and affray.
A petition was set up following his death - called Cody's Law - calling for metal detectors and bleed kits to be compulsory at venues and sporting events.
It's now received over 25,000 signatures.
