A 20-year-old woman from Telford has been told to not return to a pub chain venue in the town centre after she had an epileptic seizure there.

Hollie Teague was out with friends last weekend when the seizure happened, which is a common occurrence in Hollie's life.

She is used to having multiple seizures in a day sometimes.

Staff at the venue rang paramedics and Hollie was checked over and completely fine to carry on her night with friends.

The next day Hollie was told that she was barred from the venue as her seizure "upset staff and customers" and that they didn't know how to deal with the situation.

Hollie showed her mum Debi who has written to the management at the pub chain to sort the matter out.

Debi said: "She's 20 years old, she should be allowed to go out and socialise with her friends not have this stress.

"Stress which can bring on more seizures like what happened.

"Hollie shouldn't be penalised because it upset them, it upset her. So, let's have the training out there for people in all areas to learn and know.

"People could have a seizure at anytime, you don't know when it is going to happen.

"I don't want there to be a fear that someone could be sacked or barred because of it."

She's now calling for staff to be trained in handling hidden disabilities, to make sure people like Hollie aren't put off going out in public.

A spokesperson from the venue has said that Hollie "isn't banned" but if she does "continue to have seizures in the venue she will be removed for her own safety".
