A 16-year-old boy has been charged over the over the murder of a man in Castel Browmwich.

Kelvin Ward, 50, was stabbed in Chester Road on Tuesday evening (18 April).

The boy - who cannot be named due to his age - is accused of murder and violent disorder and has been remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (24 April).

West Midlands Police have also been granted a court extension to continue to question a 28-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday evening.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with information which could assist their investigation to come forward.
