Shropshire star set to play at Glastonbury this summer
Nieve Ella was picked to be at the summer festival.
A musician from Shropshire is set to play her dream gig at Glastonbury this summer after being chosen.
Nieve Ella started singing from childhood, performing with friends and later went on to make music in her bedroom during the Covid-19 pandemic. She's posted clips of her singing on TikTok and amassed an impressive following of 80,000 on the app.
“I remember performing with my friends at sleepovers and doing the karaoke game on the Wii. I just knew it felt so good.
"I realised I wanted to do it full time when I was sixteen,” she said.
Nieve, from Albrighton in Shropshire, says this gig is a dream come true and has since signed with a record label. She has played gigs across Europe and has multiple singles out.
“Glastonbury means more than the world to me… I feel as though it was a goal that I never thought I would achieve,” said the 20-year-old.
The singer is also going to be performing at Reading and Leeds Festival later this year and is looking at performing at bigger shows as her career skyrockets.
“I’m playing at more and more festivals… I’m going to be around the UK playing everywhere I can… my goal is to keep playing bigger and bigger shows with amazing artists.
“Preparation has been ongoing since October 2022, I always knew that if I worked hard I could get a spot on the grass there Glastonbury.
"I have been rehearsing with my band for 6 months and I feel as though this is perfect timing.”
Glastonbury Festival is set to take place June 21 – June 26, 2023.
