Police investigate after shots fired in Smethwick
Two men were seriously hurt in the early hours of this morning
Police are investigating after gun shots were fired at a venue in Smethwick in the early hours of this morning (17 June).
They received a number of calls to Avenue Bar and Restaurant on Rolfe Street at around 3.30am.
Two men, a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
They remain in hospital for treatment.
A woman was also taken to hospital with injuries and has since been discharged.
Police are reviewing CCTV and carrying out other enquiries to identify who was responsible.
Officers are increasing their patrols the area in the coming days as officers say they know how concerning this incident is for the community.
Road closures are in place in the surrounding area while officers carry out our enquiries and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
