Police are appealing for information - including footage and witness statements - after fireworks and flares were set off in a tunnel in Birmingham at the weekend.

It happened around 5:15pm in St Chads Queensway on Saturday 1 June when people got out of their cars to let off the flares.

One person on TikTok videoed the incident, saying: "I am so scared. People are on the roofs.

"They stopped all the traffic, I don't know what's going on. My heart is racing."

The incident caused traffic congestion before those involved got back in their cars and drove away.

West Midlands Police said on its website: "This kind of behaviour on our roads simply won't be tolerated and through campaigns such as Op Triton and Op Snap, we take action against drivers who break the law on our roads."
