West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash in Dudley has left one woman dead and another in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Pensnett High Street last night (15 Feb) after a car hit a central reservation at around 9pm.

Despite the efforts of emergency crews, a 26-year-old woman who was in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed.

Another woman in her 20s from the car was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

In a statement, West Midlands Police says officers have spoken to a number of witnesses but are asking anyone else with information to get in touch with them.

DC Chris Ridge from the serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with this young woman’s family at this difficult time.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information in particular anyone with dash-cam footage that may have captured what happened, to get in touch quoting log 3830 from 16 Feb, or call 101.”
