A man has died after being hit by a lorry in Birmingham.

The collision happened near the junction of Pershore Road and Waford Road at around 4:40pm yesterday.

He was given life support by an off-duty doctor at the scene before paramedics arrived.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian.

“He was found to be in a critical condition and already receiving basic life support from an off-duty doctor.

“Ambulance staff began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
