Man stabbed and gun fired during disorder in Aston

Police are investigating after trouble broke on Saturday night

Police are investigating after a gun was fired and a man stabbed during disorder in Aston.

Officers were called to the junction of Witton Road and Endicott Road at just after 7.45pm yesterday (12 October).

Evidence of a gun having been discharged was found at the scene.

A 21-year-old man arrived at hospital with stab wounds shortly after the disorder.

He has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and taken into custody for questioning.

Police are reviewing CCTV as they work to identify everyone who was involved. No-one else is known to have been injured.

Reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area. Anyone with information, or dashcam footage, is urged to contact West Midlands Police.
