Police have charged a man with the murder of Ryan Griffiths, who died after being struck by a car in Wolverhampton.

Ryan, aged 29, was injured in Burleigh Road at just before 9pm last Wednesday (21 August). The vehicle then left the scene. He died in hospital two days later.

Police have been carrying out extensive enquiries and have now charged 26-year-old Aden Wright with murder.

Wright, who was arrested on Monday, was appearing before magistrates in the city this morning,

A woman, aged 20, who was yesterday arrested on suspicion of murder and perverting the course of justice has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Ryan’s family, who we are supporting, have previously paid tribute to their loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin.”
