Man charged over teenager's stabbing in Great Barr

Police have charged a man after a teenager was stabbed outside James Watt College in Great Barr, as investigators continue to ask witnesses to come forward.
Following the incident in Aldridge Road, Old Oscott, at around 2.25pm on Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy has now been discharged from hospital after treatment.
On Saturday officers arrested a 19-year-old from Birmingham on suspicion of wounding.
Following questioning, Vacoy Farrell has been charged with wounding and possessing a bladed weapon on educational premises.
He was remanded in police custody and is due before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Mon).
A 16-year-old arrested over the weekend on suspicion of wounding has been released on bail with conditions.
Investigators are continuing with enquiries as we work to establish exactly what happened.
Det Insp Daniel Jarratt, from Force CID, said: “We take knife crime extremely seriously, particularly on or around educational premises where young people should feel safe.
“We are continuing to take a robust approach to incidents of this nature and urge anyone with any information who we’ve not yet spoken with, to get in contact.”
