A man has been charged after a number of people were sprayed with a substance in Sutton Coldfield.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening (14 August) following reports of members of the public being sprayed in the Sutton Park area.

Brad Baker from Birmingham has been charged with multiple offences including maliciously administering a substance, possession of a weapon, and public exposure.

He is appearing before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Friday).

The substance is not believed to be corrosive.

Four people who suffered from the effects of the spray were treated by ambulance crews for relatively minor symptoms, and two were taken to hospital for further checks as a precaution.
