Man arrested after attack in Handsworth Park

Police have arrested a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in Handsworth Park on Sunday.
Officers were alerted around 7.30pm and officers immediately cordoned off an area of the park for forensic examination. The cordon has now been lifted.
A 27-year-old man was arrested last night (8 Jan) on suspicion of rape and remains in custody for questioning.
Meanwhile officers have stepped up patrols in the area and anyone with concerns should speak to us.
