The Lantern Festival is back at West Midlands Safari Park on a major scale after disruption from the pandemic.

There's over 1,000 light up lanterns around the park on a 3km trail.

All the lanterns are designed to represent the park itself with many lanterns of the animals, nature and dinosaurs.

Bethan Davis is the PR and Events officer at the park, she said: "There's about 50 type of lantern groups and we really wanted to convey the park in our festival.

"That's why we've chosen to focus on the nature theme.

"Last year we were just coming out of covid and it's great to see everyone back here and we're proud of the display we've put on this year."

The lanterns are hand painted by the workers at the festival before they go out on display.

It takes a year to put the festival together.

Guests can see the light installations from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on selected evening until December 5.
