An inquest has found the death of a teenager in Ladywood, whose body was found by a canal, was self-inflicted.

17-year-old Jaydon Beckford was found dead near the Birmingham canal on November 10 last year - five days after his friend, Diego Henry, was found with gunshot wounds to his head in Ladywood five days before.

He was last seen on CCTV running in the direction of where he was found.

The coroner ruled his death as 'self-inflicted' by a gunshot wound to the head - after police said they had a working hypothesis that he felt he had no choice following the death of his friend.

It's believed the same gun was used.

Following the conclusion of the inquest, Jayden's family paid tribute to him - describing his as an "amazing, loving boy" who will be "missed everyday."
