Heritage Open Days returns to Coventry for its 30th anniversary
You'll be able to visit Coventry attractions for free from September 6
Heritage Open Days in Coventry will take place from Friday 6 September to Sunday 15 September 2024.
Members of the public will be able to visit Coventry attractions for free as the city celebrates Heritage Open Days 30th anniversary.
Over 40 venues will be opening their doors and allowing the public to learn about Coventry’s rich history, heritage and culture through free events, tours and activities.
Highlights of the programme include hearing the story of what happened to Coventry Cathedral during the Blitz from a costumed WWII fireman, learning about the conservation of archives and objects at the Herbert Art Gallery, and the chance to see a patchwork exhibition by Jane Cobbett at Russell’s Garden Centre.
The national theme across the UK for this event is Routes, Networks and Connections
The council say,
"It's a great showcase for Coventry's fascinating and rich history with obvious gems like Coventry's old and new Cathedrals, St Mary's Guildhall, Holy Trinity Church and many more not so obvious or only accessible during Heritage Open Days.
"There are many hidden gems that will both entertain and educate visitors.
