Dozens of firefighters are tackling a blaze at an industrial estate in Birmingham.

West Midlands Fire Service said they were called to Hastingwood Industrial Park on Wood Lane shortly after 3.20pm on Wednesday.

Twelve crews were working to contain the fire, with black plumes of smoke rising above the nearby A38.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire was at a two-storey sports equipment factory, with the entire roof and first floor affected.

Everyone at the site was accounted for, as crews worked to prevent the fire spreading further.

The nearby Fort shopping centre was said to be unaffected by the blaze, although some local roads were closed.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area, and people living close by told to close doors and windows.
