Around 60 firefighters have been tackling a huge blaze in the Erdington area of Birmingham overnight, as emergency services responded to multiple 999 calls.

At around 6:30pm yesterday (30 June), a fire broke out at an office furniture company on Tyburn Road near the M6/Spaghetti Junction.

We're being told the operation has now been scaled back, with crews remaining on scene to monitor any hotspots.

Locals were asked to keep windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure.

Drivers are advised to check before travelling. The M6 is still open but the A38 Tyburn Road between Salford Circus and Wheelwright Road is closed in both directions.
