Donations have been piling in over the last 24 hours at the Kingstanding Inn, for those who have been left homeless by the house explosion.

On Sunday night, a house on Dulwich Road in Kingstanding was destroyed by a gas explosion, and three houses also damaged in the explosion.

Emergency Services were called to the scene at around 8:30pm.

Around 21 people were evacuated from their homes, and offered accommodation by Kingstanding Inn.

The hotel opened up a donations area in one their functions suites and put out calls for items families needed.

Since then, they have been inundated with food, toothpaste, clothes, shampoo and many more items.

Kathleen is the manager and said:" It's overwhelming, the people have been absolutely magnificent and a credit to them all.

"Everything we've asked for it's just come through the door.

"Yesterday here, was just like, you had to be here to feel the energy in the room. Everyone wanted to help."

People that were evacuated from their homes won't be able to return until the investigation by West Midlands Fire Service is complete.

A woman was found dead after the explosion and a man is currently still in hospital with life-threatening injuries, after being pulled from the house by neighbours.

West Midlands Fire Service are currently examining the house's gas supply, as their investigation continues.
