Police officers will be out in the Blakenall area over the weekend to stop a rise in anti-social behaviour incidents.

Large groups of young people have been behaving in a way that caused people a real nuisance. This included driving off-road bikes dangerously.

Police took immediate steps to stop the behaviour and introduced an emergency dispersal order giving our officers extra powers to break up groups of people and ban them from coming back into the area.

The same powers will be in place over the weekend and officers will be patrolling to actively enforce the order.

They will arrest anyone who ignores the order and does not leave when told.

Officers are working with the council and other partners to try and prevent this kind of thing happening again. This may include evicting people from their homes if they persistently cause antisocial behaviour.

The dispersal order for Blakenall is in place for 48 hours from 5pm Friday 8 September.
