Birmingham's Commonwealth bull is here to stay

It's going to remain in Centenary Square for now

After wowing millions of people worldwide during the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, the star of the show the raging bull is going to stay.

It's been on display in Centenary Square since the beginning of the games, with thousands of people going to see it.

And now Birmingham City council says the bull will remain in the square until the conclusion of the of the Birmingham 2022 festival in September

Plans for after the end of the festival haven't been decided yet.

After being the focus of the ceremony at the Alexander Stadium, the 10-metre high mechanical bull was moved to Centenary Square, where it's on display for the duration of the Games.

More than 2,500 people signed a petition to keep it in Birmingham, after its creators revealed it wasn't built to last as a permanent display.
