Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was hit by a car at the junction of Sir Harrys Road and Pershore Road in Birmingham just after 6pm yesterday.

The child was on an e-scooter when a white Audi convertible mounted the pavement.

The driver took the boy to hospital and then left before contact details were taken.

The child suffered two broken legs which require surgery and will face months of rehabilitation.

Police are exploring CCTV and have examined the scene as well as speaking to local residents and shopkeepers, but are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage.
