Man charged after house fire in Wednesbury leaves two in a critical condition

A woman in her 80s is also in hospital

A man has been charged after a house fire in Wednesbury that has left two men in a critical condition and a woman in her 80s in hospital.

Andrew Gorrell from Saltney in Chester has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

The house fire happened in Holyhead Road in the early hours of Sunday (11th May).

He has also been charged with three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The 53-year-old is due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (16th May).

Two men are in a critical but stable condition and a woman in her 80s is also still in hospital.

West Midlands Police are eager to speak to anyone with any more information.
