The first ever trans tea room in Birmingham is hoping to transform lives and offer support in the trans community.

The space offers a place for gender fluid, non binary and trans people to socialise, play board games, crafts and have a coffee in the 'pay as you feel' café.

However, they are hoping to be able to expand in the future to offer youth work and group sessions with parents of trans children and adults to offer support.

August Gawen is a trustee at the tearoom and said: "It's so important for the trans community to have a space to socialise and gather, to support one another and tackle loneliness and isolation.

"We would love to see more of these spaces pop up all over the West Midlands. We want more spaces for trans, gender fluid and non binary people to gather and celebrate being who they are."

The tea room is based at The Old Bookshop on Carrs Lane and runs sessions on different topics.
