18 year old stabbed in "phone robbery" in Birmingham park

It happened in Smith's Wood in broad daylight.

The victim is now in hospital with serious injuries, following the attack on the green space between Windward Way and Chester Road near Chelmsley Wood, around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 21st Jan).

Two people, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, have been arrested.

A West Midlands Police Spokesperson said:

"Police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was stabbed in a park area following a phone robbery between Chester Road and Windward Way, in Smith’s Wood just before 2.30pm.

"He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the attack.
