10 charged with plotting to supply drugs after police raid in Birmingham
It was the West Midlands Police's biggest operation in recent history
10 people have been charged with plotting to supply large amounts of drugs after West Midlands Police carried out their biggest operation in recent history.
Yesterday morning (20 Oct), around 150 officers raided 10 addresses across east Birmingham suspected to be involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.
9 men, aged between 22 and 37, plus a 16-year-old boy were questioned yesterday, and have since been charged with conspiring to supply Class A drugs.
A list of the men who have been charged:
• Zulfikhar Khan, aged 28, from Primley Avenue, Hodge Hill
• Mohammed Hamza Butt, 22, from Cobham Road, Bordesley Green
• Mohammed Ishaq Khan, 37, from Knowle Road, Sparkhill
• Sohail Hussain, 28, from Priorygate Way, Bordesley Green
• Mohammed Imran Khan, 24, from Imperial Road, Bordesley Green
• Mohammed Riaz, 36, from Carlton Road, Bordesley Green
• Kaleem Khan, 34, from Arden Road, Saltley
• Nowshad Mohammed, 36, from Bordesley Green
• Anwar Awais, 25, from Allens Croft Road, Brandwood
All those charged are expected to appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court today (21 October).
