The Met Office is warning us to expect some wet and windy conditions throughout Thursday (24th November).

Forecasters have put a yellow weather warning from 10.00am to 7.00pm.

The alert's in place right across the South from Dorset, right through Wiltshire and Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and across as far as West Sussex.

The area in yellow will be affected by the weather warning on Thursday

We're told that 10 to 20 millimetres of rain could fall across the day.

That'll be coupled with 40 to 50 mph winds inland, and 60 to 70 mph gusts on exposed coasts.

It's all due to colder, wetter weather coming across the Atlantic from America.

The Met Office also says we can expect:

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible

Once the warning has passed through, we're set to see calmer, sunnier weather on Friday, before more showers over the weekend.
