Elderly woman seriously injured after being struck by car in Weymouth

A vehicle involved also hit two parked cars in Wyke Regis

A woman in her 70s has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, after being struck by a car in Weymouth.

A collision happened just before 2.00pm on Thursday (6th June) on the High Street in Wyke Regis, and involved a blue Skoda Octavia.

The car struck two parked vehicles, as well as the pedestrian victim.

The driver of the Skoda, a woman aged in her 60s, was treated for minor injuries.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Dorset Roads Policing Team, said:

“We are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also urge anyone with dashcam who was driving in the vicinity around the time of the collision to please check their footage for anything of relevance.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
