A woman's been treated in hospital after being attacked by a group of people in Weymouth.

The victim, in her 20s from Portland, was assaulted on the Rodwell Trail after passing under Buxton Road at around midday last Wednesday (12th June).

Police say four people were involved and were known to her.

PC Richard Symonds, of Weymouth police, said:

“This incident occurred in the middle of the day when there may have been a number of people in the area.

“I would ask anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“In particular, I understand an elderly woman came to the aid of the victim during the incident. I am appealing to her to please come forward so we can take her account of what she witnessed.”
