Weymouth is to get its own Youth Town Council - with the aim of 'making a difference' to the local community.

The main Town Council is setting it up and encouraging young people in school years 9 to 13 to get involved.

There's a session at their base on Commercial Road in Weymouth on Friday evening (25th November) for teens to find out more.

Weymouth Councillor Alex Fuhrmann said:

“This is your chance to help shape Weymouth and find out more about joining the Youth Town Council. So come along, grab a slice of pizza, and talk about how your generation can make a difference. Your opinion matters, and we want to build a platform for you to be heard.”

The first proper meeting of the Youth Town Council is due to take place at a later date.
