Two teenagers have been assaulted, and a bike stolen in an incident on Portland yesterday (November 25).

The incident happened at around 6:30pm in Victoria Gardens.

Police say one of the boys was walking along Castle Road when a man pushed him into a bush at the entrance to Victoria Gardens.

The man is then reported to have pushed the second teenage boy up against some railings in the gardens and then punched them before making off with the victim’s bike in the direction of Castle Road.

Neither of the victims sustained any serious injuries.

Police described the suspect as approximately 50 years old with short dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, an orange jacket, and black trainers.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Roger Clark, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “We have spoken to the victims in this case and are continuing to carry out detailed enquiries.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.

“I would also ask any residents or businesses in the vicinity with CCTV or doorbell cameras to please review any footage from around the relevant time to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
