Two people hospitalised in crash near Sherborne

A motorcycle and a car were involved in a collision on the A30

A man and woman are being treated in hospital for serious injuries after a collision involving their motorbike and a car near Sherborne.

It happened just before 9.40pm last night (Tuesday 2nd January) on the A30 Yeovil Road.

A blue BMW and a red Peugeot motorbike were involved - with the rider of the bike, a man in his 40s and his pillion passenger, a woman in her 30s and both from Yeovil, were injured.

Dorset Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

PC Mark Burton, of the Roads Policing Team, said:

“We are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that could assist our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, as well as anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding as the road closures were in place.”
