Two new bus routes are launching in Weymouth today. (9 January)
First Bus say the 9 and 9a will benefit people living in the Wyke Road, Chickerell Road, Lanehouse Rocks and Wyke Regis area.
A spokesperson for First Bus said:
"There are many elderly people who are living on these routes, and they will greatly benefit from having a local bus service close to them.
"These services will initially just be for a 3 month trial basis, so the more support they have, the more likely that these services will be able to be extended past the 3 month stage."
The Government is also offering 'Help for Households' by placing a price cap of £2 on most single tickets.
That will start at the end of March.
